This Privacy Policy explains how ZarKos Codex ("we", "our", "the app"), built and operated by TuZhi Studio, handles information when you use our AI chat application, whether through the website, the installed Progressive Web App, or any embedded version of it.

By using ZarKos Codex, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

02Information We Collect

We keep the data we collect to what's needed to run the chat experience:

• Chat content — the messages, prompts, and any files or images you send during a conversation, so a response can be generated.
• Device and usage data — basic technical details such as browser type, approximate request volume, and error logs, used only to keep the service stable and secure.
• Optional account data — if a login is offered and you choose to use it, only the minimum details needed to identify your session are stored, never a plaintext password.

We do not require personal identifying information to use the core chat features.

03How We Use Information

• To generate and return responses to your messages.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the reliability of ZarKos Codex.
• To enforce reasonable usage limits and prevent abuse of the service.
• To diagnose errors when something goes wrong.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your chat content to run advertising.

04Local Storage & Your Device

ZarKos Codex is designed so that your chat history and projects are saved directly in your browser's local storage, on your own device — not on our servers as a permanent record. This means your conversation list is tied to the browser and device you used to create it, and clearing your browser data will also clear that history.

As a Progressive Web App, ZarKos Codex may also use a small amount of cached data (via a service worker) purely so the app can load quickly and work offline for its interface — this cache does not track you across other websites.

05Third-Party AI Providers

To generate responses, your message is routed, server-side, to one of several third-party AI model providers. We choose the provider automatically based on the type of request; the specific provider and model are never exposed to you or stored alongside your identity on our end.

These providers process your prompt text (and any attached files or images) to produce a reply, under their own data-processing terms. We do not share any additional personal information with them beyond what's contained in your message.

06Data Security

We apply reasonable technical safeguards — including rate limiting, request size limits, and restricted cross-origin access — to protect the service from abuse and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

07Children's Privacy

ZarKos Codex is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so it can be removed.

08Your Rights & Choices

• You can clear your entire chat history at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, or by removing individual chats in the app.
• You can stop using ZarKos Codex at any time, with no account to delete in most cases.
• Where applicable data protection laws — including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — grant you rights such as access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold, you may exercise them by reaching out through the contact details below.

09Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as ZarKos Codex evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
